Can't decide - UCF. vs UF

So I'm currently enrolled at UCF, but I'm undecided as to what to major in (in between Psychology and Biology). I went to UCF for a year and honestly didn't like it that much, it was okay but it wasn't that college feel i was hoping for. I've been looking into transferring to another school and actually found that UF has Psychology with a specialization on neuroscience which is was really interests me. I'm also considering biology, and UCF has a really good program for it.
I'm about to start school in the Fall, but I'm undecided whether I should actually stay home (south florida) and take classes at Broward College and just get my prerequisites done, and then decide whether I want to transfer to UF after a year,
or go to UCF for another year, unsure about my situation and where I stand there.
I feel both are good decisions; if I stay home I can save money, have more time for myself as I will be living with my parents and can think about making the right decision in the long run.
If I go to UCF for another year I will be at a big university, around more people my age and in my position, also I can be more involved in extracurriculars and clubs that could also help me figure things out.
I just don't want to spend another year wasting time and money, which is what I did at UCF this past year, but I also feel I am much more focused this year, wherever I'm at.
Also, would it be a good idea to try to transfer to UF by going from UCF to broward college? Or does it look better to just transfer from one place?
Also, I am also considering transferring to UCLA as my brother will be moving there, and my family is thinking about moving there as well - and they actually have Psychobiology, so that would be the perfect major. So maybe it would be a good idea to stay home and save money?
Thanks to anyone who reads enough to give me some insight!
Any questions - let me know
Sincerely, a confused girl

Why did you feel you wasted time and money at UCF your freshman year? How were your grades at UCF? GPA? Did you do any type of remedial courses at UCF? Did you receive any merit aid at UCF and how much?Would you be able to get into UF after attending Broward College your sophomore year?

Psychology/neuroscience or Biology: What do you intend to do with a degree in either major? Do you intend to go on to graduate school shortly after receiving your Bachelor's degree (maybe medical school) or enter the workforce? UF is also a very large institution, although UCF is much larger.

I family member of ours went to UF for a year and did not like it there and came home and did courses (Prerequisites) at both Broward College and FAU, while living at home. Eventually transferred into the Nursing Program at FIU, while commuting (~45 minutes from Broward County) from home. Graduated from FIU with a BSN and zero College debt and eventually went on to get a Nurse Practitioner Degree also from FIU. The point I getting at, is maybe you can go to Broward College for a year and then attend FIU (or even FAU) if college cost (R & B) becomes an issue. The issue here is, there is no guarantee that you will be able to get into UF, so you should identify other 4-year Florida Universities as backup if University of Florida doesn't pan out.

Frankly, I do not think attending UF will offer you anymore than what FIU would for the two areas you mentioned. More importantly, I think you should spend the rest of the summer figuring out what you really want to major in and what you hope to accomplish with whatever degree you elect to focus on. IMHO, that is more critical than which school you attend. The last thing you want to happen is to finish your degree and cannot get a job (or get into a decent graduate program) and stuck at home with your parents like a lot of college graduates these days.

Transferring to UCLA will present it own set of challenges, especially the cost of tuition from OOS students (~$56K). The cost issue will be not be a major issue if your parents can establish residency for at least a year before transferring. Of course, tuition will be twice what is is at Florida University. Also, it is quite competitive to get into UCLA (in comparison to UF).
