Here's the least surprising part about them: They went up from this year's rates! Across the board!

You can see all of the prices on this page.

A few notes:

For Freshmen:
The Community style dorms will be $2475/semester for the standard double.
The suite-style dorms will be $3055/semester for the standard double.
Salley Hall will be $2825/semester for the standard double.
Obviously, different configurations (single/triple/quad) will be different prices.

For Returning Residents:
Rogers will be $2340/semester (and is now per semester, like every other building).
McCollum will be $2690/semester for the 4-person townhouse. Efficiencies will be $3415.
Ragans will be $3445/semester per person.
Traditions will be $3675/semester.

Wow. The housing rates are getting out of hand. The only advantage they have over off campus apartments is not having to rent for 12 months. The least they could do is include cable at these prices.

I guess since they can't raise tuition as much as they wanted to they just raise every other cost possible. This way Florida Prepaid still only pays less than half of the per credit charge, and we have to overpay for everything else.

But nothing bothers me more than the ridiculous Meal Plan pricing!

Yeah, between this, the standard 14-15% increase in tuition, who knows what increases in the student fees (especially now that they are going to be building a new Student Union at some point...), and who knows what other increases, it's getting more and more difficult to not get annoyed every year.

I agree that at the very least they could include the cable TV. I wouldn't hold my breath on that one though.... We all know how much FSU loves the nickel-and-diming on things like that.

I know people that live off campus in 3/3s (nice 3/3s) on the bus routes that pay well under $700/month including their utilities. Plus, a number of apartment complexes have a number of specials for moving in- I know one of them is offering $1000 to anyone that signs a lease for next year. That pays for 2 of the 3 months in the summer.

Every year it gets more and more difficult to recommend to people that they should live on campus- and I'm a person that loves doing so.

WTH that is insane! There are bigger apartments near campus that include cable, utilities, washer/dryer already in apt w fee and wifi access for less than the cost of Traditions.
Plus I still find it annoying that they still charge students for using the laundry room. With those costs it should be included, and be put on a special card so they don't have to keep transferring money to their FSUID...seriously I'm sure they can think of a better system.
