Starting my application and need help!

First question: I'm taking the SAT/ACT for the second time in October. I see on the application you have to enter your current highest scores so far... Do I enter my first scores or wait for my second scores to arrive, in case they're higher? I'm aware that I get my scores about two weeks after I take the test, and I know FSU accepts scores from later tests until November, for the first deadline. which brings me to my next question...

The ACT test is offered Oct. 26th. Scores take about 2-3 weeks to arrive.. I have no idea how long it takes for colleges to receive them. Will FSU only get to see my first ACT scores?

Third question: Summer vs. fall term?? Is it better to apply for an earlier term, or will my chances improve??

Last question! If I get deferred, I know I have the second deadline to try again. Can I use the same essay I wrote for the first deadline?

I'm really confused about all this and just really need help! Thanks!

Use your current scores. You don't know your October scores so obviously you can't put them down. Plus, there's always a chance that they are worse, not better.

FSU will have your October scores for their decision, unless something majorly screws up with ACT. I do not know if they will have November test scores though, especially if the test dates are later in the month. FSU used to say that October was the last test date for scores to be sent for the December decision date. If they accept November test scores, I'd be wary that any delay could potentially hinder your application, so I wouldn't rely on November dates.

Apply for Fall, because you are automatically considered for Summer admission if you aren't accepted for Fall. If you apply for Summer and aren't accepted, that's all there is; you aren't considered for Fall. Unless you absolutely want to start in the Summer. The difference between Fall and Summer stats wise isn't all that significant.

If you get deferred generally all FSU will want is updated test scores (if you have any), and new transcripts- usually ones that show the first semester of your senior year. I haven't heard of anyone needing to completely re-apply.
