if they were going to offer it it would have been stated in the letter of acceptance because it did for one of my friends.

Waitlisted. 26 ACT (28/30/24/23), 1290/1970 SAT, 3.3 W GPA w/ extreme upward trend. Declined offer of waitlist and cancelled my application. Never really cared to be a 'nole anyway.

USF probably. Unless I wanna stay here another semester and get my AA and transfer but I don't want to do that. I'm not ready to be a junior in college a semester out of high school

Waitlised w/ offer of admission for Spring 2009 at UMiami... accepted to FIU, rejected FIU Honors, accepted UCF, awaiting decision at UCF Honors. I don't have any idea as to what to do.

In your position I would go to UCF unless you have a lot of money, in which case I'd go to UM. If you have a preference in terms of environment you should go with that though.

We have heard of no acceptances from those we knew who were waiting. Many denials, one deferred moved to the waitlist and learned she wouldn't hear before May 1 or 2.

I was denied admission...had been on deferred list. Had already committed to USF anyway. At this point Florida students should be glad if they get into ANY state university with the budget and admissions tightening. Noticed out of state colleges are now advertising for Florida recruits on TV in Tampa area--saw TV ad for Troy University the other night. Attached is another newspaper article about Florida universities:

What were your SAT scores that you didn't get in?
  • lizardlizard Registered User Posts: 3,410 Senior Member
My ACT composite was 22. What surely doomed me was my English sub-score of 20--21 is the minimum FSU wants. If I had gotten a 21 English sub-score for last Fall's FSU decision, I probably would have been accepted then...Oh well!! I am glad I applied early to USF last Sept. and was accepted there. I understand very few applicants were accepted at USF after Jan 2008, with GPA's less then 3.5 or SAT's less than 1200. BTW my gpa was 4.1 and I have 50 semester hour credits of dual enrollment. I'm going to be a junior in college at 17.

You might be a junior by credits, but you'll still be a freshman next year. Pull back a little bit.

waitlisted.. i accepted it and i called today to see what my chances were of getting in. the admissions lady was nice. she honestly said she didnt know because of how everything changed this year. instead of the usual 200 waitlisted they had about 2,000. because they accepted the highest caliber students they werent sure how many were actually going to stay or go to different schools ( ahem UF). and if they have room they do a whole reevaluation of all the waitlisted candidates and pick the best from that pool. which means I probably wont get in but who cares. I'll go to UCF.
