Additional Fin Aid?

I was recently accepted to Fordham, and received my fin aid letter. The following is a quote from the letter
"We are sending you these estimated financial aid awards.... You may qualify for additional aid if all requested information is received by April 11."
Since receiving the letter, I've taken care of the requested info. My question is, do I have any chance of actually qualifying for additional aid, or is that sentence just there to entice you into submitting your documents?

@mandy563 - My son was accepted there in December. Then in January, we received his financial award - which was only &5000. I called Financial Aid and spoke to them, because my son is very interested. He has a 4.0 GPA and excellent ECs with many leadership roles. His only "weakness" is an SAT score of 1930. His ACT was a 27.

The person I spoke to at Fordham Financial Aid told me that an updated letter would come in late March or early April. And sometimes there can be a significant increase. So we'll see.

In the meantime, he was accepted with scholarships at Marist (10K), Fairfield (25K), Hofstra (28K), St. John's (27K), Loyola (19K), Susquehana (26K) Quinnipiac (19K). He was also rejected outright at BU and Northeastern and wait listed at Binghamton. My point in including all of this is just how messed up and inconsistent the whole college admissions process is....Anyway, good luck.

So is it likely that RD accepted students may receive increases in the financial aid packages already offered? Fordham is high on my son's list, but extra aid would make it number one I think.

Well, we heard back from Fordham yesterday. And they didn't add anything to his package. So $5K is it. I sent a letter of appeal with copies of what other schools were giving him. I don't know if they will give anything else and likely not enough to make it affordable.
