Hi, everyone! I'm a white female senior from a public high school in Indiana, and I've posted on here before, but several things have changed since then. I've also really realized that Georgetown is my number one school, and I'm applying there EA. I would appreciate chances -- I applied to the Faculty of Languages and Linguistics, planning to double-major in linguistics and anthropology. Thank you!

School:
Class Size: 550
Rank: 3
Curriculum: IB Diploma candidate, AP/IB classes whenever available
Grades: 4.3 with our weird weighting system that doesn't kick in until junior year...

APs (only offered starting junior year):
U.S. History (5), U.S. Government and Politics (self-taught, 5), Biology (will take), English Language (will take), Calculus BC (will take), French Language (will take)

Extracurriculars:
-JV Swimming (9-10)
-Violin/Orchestra, first chair as a senior, gold awards at state music competition 4 years (9-12)
-Key Club (9-12)
-Model UN (11-12)
-NHS (11-12)
-Diocesan Youth Council peer representative (9-11)
-French Club, treasurer (9-12)
-Latin Club, secretary (10-12)
-Natural Helpers program, nominated by peers as someone to go to for advice (12)
-Work 20 hours/week at Kumon tutoring center (10-12)

Volunteer/Service Work:
-2 weeklong summer workcamps (11-12, 50+ hours)
-volunteer through Key Club (9-12, 20 hours)
-work with youth group 2 hours/week at nursing home, soup kitchen, etc.

Tests:
SAT: 2320
Math: 770 / Reading: 760 / Writing: 790
ACT: 34 (Math: 33/ English: 36/ Reading: 36/ Science: 31)
PSAT: 234, National Merit Semifinalist (so far)
Subject Tests: U.S. History 800, Math II 760, French 710*
*will this hurt me if I'm applying to the FLL?

Recommendations: Excellent. One teacher said I was the best "thinker and writer" he's ever had in 30+ years of teaching...how heavily does that weigh?

Essays: My topics themselves weren't extraordinary, but I believe I wrote passionately and in a way that showed what I had to offer to Georgetown. Overall I'd say my essays were very solid.

Everyone needs to keep in mind that admissions are unpredictable, even for the best students. You have great credentials, but don't get your hopes too high about any one college. Make sure you have several options.

If the essays are solid, then your chances are extremely high with comprehensive extracurriculars. Unfortunately they don't take SAT writing into account, but your math and reading are on the high end of the spectrum.
