ruebieruebie Registered User Posts: 2 New Member
Unfortunately for me, my ec's do not really accurately reflect what I want to do because I kept switching my mind throughout high school... but I am planning to apply to Georgetown SFS and wanted to know what anyone thought of my chances!

ACT: 35
SAT: 1500
SAT IIs (not that good but I think you have to submit everything): Math II- 690
Biology- 710
US History- 670

GPA: 3.96 uw, 4.67 w
14 AP's- AP Biology (5), AP Euro (4), AP Environmental Science (5), AP Chem (3-oops), AP Calc BC (4), AB Subscore (4), AP US History (4), AP Language (5), AP Psychology (5)
Senior year- AP Government, AP Microeconomics, AP Physics B, AP Statistics, AP French, AP Literature

Essays are okay, could be better- will be better- but will probably not be anything amazing.
Letters of rec are AMAZING!

Work Experience as waitress/cashier at local restaurant; working 15-25 hours per week

Demographics:
Female
White (European Descent)
Not applying for financial aid

Okay well hopefully that is enough information and a huge thank you to anyone who is looking over this!!!!

Your scores look great for gtown. What they're really looking for is passion for what you do, and international relations and anything SFS. I would try to make your SFS essay as good as it can be, bringing in examples from your life, or putting in something about you, how you're working to remedy the situation or whatever you're writing about ( I did this for mine and was accepted EA). I'd make sure to stress during your interview about your future and why you're applying to SFS specifically. It's the hardest school to get into I heard! They want people dedicated to the study of the international world! If your extracurriculars dont reflect that you have to make sure your essays, recs, and interviews do! My interview was entirely about my interests in international affairs, my study abroad, and my clubs and activities. If you can do that, I think you could get in :) it's really up to the admissions committee to determine whether your current interest in the field will hold through undergrad, since they're admitting you to SFS. Good luck!

I was also accepted to sfs class of 2019 and we basically have the same stats and a similar level of extracurricular, so all you need to do is do really well on your essays and i think you have a good chance...you can see my stats from previous posts on my profile

I think you definitely have a good chance, if anything just work on essays not due to Jan 10 so you got plenty of time. Sats 2 are a little low but that's the only thing that's not great about app. If you take two in January and get 700s on both it'll be really good, they'll only look at top 3 scores anyway. So basically I think you have a great chance of getting in, but if you wanted to improve it a bit take sat 2s again.
