I emailed admissions yesterday and all they told me was that "the transfer application is not currently available" and to "keep checking back."

    Hey everyone,

I'm currently a junior at Cornell who is considering transferring to Georgetown. I'm looking to transfer because I want to switch majors (to do that at Cornell requires internally transferring and for the college that I'm interested in here I'm not even allowed to internal transfer as a junior) and also because I seek a change in atmosphere (I have SAD which means that my mood and ability to concentrate is heavily influenced by the weather/climate and obviously Ithaca is an incredibly AWFUL place to go to school).

Although I feel that transferring is an appropriate action for me to take at this point, I have 2 concerning issues that will probs negatively affect my transfer chances and I'm not sure if it's still worth pursuing it. First of all, I transferred once to Cornell already so I'm pretty sure that transferring again will be a negative for me in the admissions process. Secondly, my GPA isn't that good (approx. 3.6 currently). I had a 4.0 in my previous college. The discrepancy in the GPAs is mainly due to the difference in location/climate and how it impacts my SAD (the previous college was in the city/good weather, etc).

Given everything that I said above, is it even worth applying to transfer to Gtown?

Thanks in advance! Good luck to everyone applying!!!

Does anyone know if being previously admitted to Georgetown would help in the transfer process? Current Vanderbilt freshman who is doing his best to integrate into campus life, clubs, organizations, etc. here, but feeling that I was kind of pressured to choose Vanderbilt because it was "ranked higher" than Georgetown, even though it had been my dream to attend college on the east coast and I was thrilled to be admitted to Georgetown.

Also, are mental health issues taken into consideration during the transfer process, and can they potentially explain why I would only have a 3.5 first semester college GPA?

Hi everyone I’m a freshman hoping to transfer to Georgetown SFS for my sophomore year fall 2020. I’m looking for brutal honesty here.
I had 3 family members pass away my first semester of college and decided to drop two of my classes. Because of this my first semester GPA is a 2.37. However, I will be retaking those classes this semester and will hopefully end my freshman year with a GPA of 3.92.
Do you guys think G’Town admissions would be understanding of this and see that I eat mostly A’s? Or is my chance of transferring scrapped?

Hi everyone, I’m freshman in UW Madison with stats gap 4.0 SAT 1510, deciding between applying transferring to Georgetown College or MCDONOUGH business school. My first choice is business but I am worry that whether the transfer acceptance rate of the business school is a lot lower than the general college one. Or am I eligible to first transfer to the Georgetown college then apply internal transfer to business school?

Can't wait to hear results. I hope they get back before the actual date they set because a lot of schools are demanding answers before then!

I looked at previous years' threads. It seems that they only start to use the portal from last year, and decisions will be posted on it.

Last year, the website says 6/1, and when people called the answer they got was 6/1. However, accepted students got updates starting from the end of April. Most accepted decisions are released not together but in small waves in early May and continue to around May 17th. Rejections and waitlists came out after 5/22 by mail.

Has anyone else gotten an interview? Admissions sent me the contact info yesterday and I was wondering what the usual questions were (my interviewer scheduled it for this weekend and I'm super nervous lol).
