Hey guys! New to college confidential – was wondering whether being Mongolian would give me any advantage in the application process, especially when applying to the Ivy League. Thanks!

The fact that you are Mongolian? No. Mongolian is Asian, which is generally a disadvantage. Now if you were from Mongolia (which you are not based on your other thread), then maybe, but doubtful; colleges are not going to admit a student simply to stick another pin in the map.

Nothing provides more of an edge than being a good student and making a good application. Focus on that. Ethnicity is not the admissions elixir people think it is.

You are a US citizen, that might be worth mentioning.
