4 AP Courses???

Hello CC users! :)

I have a minor dilemma here.
I recently turned in my scheduling paper for my senior year and I signed up for:
Chinese 1
Forensic Science
Women's Chorus
Music History/Appreciation
AP Lit
AP Statistics (known to give A LOT of work)
And AP Government.

Recently the question has came up about AP biology. My question is, would this be a good option to be in 4 AP's? I would switch out of Forensics for it if I decided to do so.

PS: Planning on majoring in psychology and looking into forensic or child psychology as a career if that helps

Take Bio. I don't know how Statistics could be a lot of work; CC regards it as one of the easiest aps

Gov is easy. Lit is pretty easy. Bio is a ton work. I know nothing about stats. Maybe that'll help you decide for yourself -- I don't want to influence you, I just want you to be informed.

    Personal experience:
AP Stats is current hell for me. SO MUCH WORK. It depends on the teacher, also. Ugh, my teacher get a kick out of giving us work. But you learn, and you pass the test.

Government is easy, that class is a joke

In my school, both Language and Literature are hard classes, with a ton of work. It also was in my old school. Just expect to read and write a lot.

Does your school have AP Psychology? That test is so easy, so is the class, and I feel you would enjoy it more if that's what you want to do

I'm taking AP Statistics this year. Just took the midterm for it today actually. It's challenging I will admit, but if your willing to commit the time and focus to it you should be fine. I've managed to maintain a low A all year. Keep in mind thought that I have always been a straight A student, that my statistics teacher is nationally ranked, and that I'm only taking one other AP class this year in conjunction with it. And that's AP World, which has so far been a breeze.

Thank you for your input everyone! :)

Syoung2: Ive talked to an old friend who is currently taking the class and he has a lot of homework every night and such. It seems to not be as easy compared to CC's regards.

EliKresses: Thank you for that. A lot of people try to influence me so that is certainly a breath of fresh air. I appreciate it. :)

wigglechoo: I have taken AP psychology this year and really enjoyed it. I just took it to make sure I was on the right path. And thank you for your input and warning about English :)

BITKRUSHER: Thank you for your advice. It is very appreciated. :)

Personally I would, also why are you taking a level one language as a senior?
  • iflyawayiflyaway Registered User Posts: 90 Junior Member
ArtsyGirl13: It's a new course offered at my school next year. I have already taken 3 years of Spanish though.

    Laysmarts: That sounds really tough!

That's weird. I had to take AP Stats, because my school doesn't like you to take calculus junior year, and it's considered one of the easier math classes in my high school. My teacher doesn't give much work, just some problems from the book every night.
So ask around for how difficult AP Stats is in your school, because it looks like it varies quite a bit.
If it's easy, I'd say take AP Bio, because AP Gov is pretty easy too.

renoverchat: I will do that. Thanks so much!

I think you should take another year of Spanish instead of Chinese I. Unless you really dislike Spanish. Just my thought.
  • iflyawayiflyaway Registered User Posts: 90 Junior Member
Awflapjackz: That is a good idea. However I had way too many conflicts with the teacher and she is very weak at what she does. I had her for Spanish 3 and the most we did was listen to Spanish podcasts at home. I learned very little.
Thanks for the suggestion though :)

I would ask current seniors at your school who are in those AP classes to determine how heavy the courseload would be, since it definitely varies by school. Some people might think lit and gov are easy, but at my school, they're the toughest APs, along with bio. Stats, however, is considered to be a joke here whereas it might actually be rigorous elsewhere.
