ah...the PSAT memes, and yeah it was a bit easier than expected. Also, can anyone check our my most recent thread and give me some advice?

I wish I was able to take it. My school did not allow sophomores to take it - only juniors :(

@Aurora23 try going onto the Cillege Board site and search for tests in your region. There are two more dates. Then just contact the school to see if you can register.

    Greeting fellow sophomores!
I know I'm kinda late in the game, but her it goes anyway: I want to start a club in my school that's related to science/healthcare/medicine/research. Now the only options that my school currently is a small sports medicine club and an even tinier science Olympiad club and I strongly dislike both advisors. So if anyone wants to help me out and think up some ideas that would be very lovely!

P.S. if it helps I live in Washington state

@Bombgirls I'm not sure whether the registration deadline for 2019 has already passed (don't think it has), but I'd definitely recommend looking into HOSA. It's like Science Olympiad but specifically tailored towards healthcare and medicine, and it covers everything you're interested in.

I will be doing my third MUN in 2 weeks. This one will be different because I will be an "Important person" this time around. Any advice?

@birdbear What kind of committee are you in? General assembly, specialized general assembly, or crisis? (It should say either in the list of committees or in your background guide.)

Is anyone else doing the Scholastic Art and Writing Competition? I'm doing writing, probably humor.

@CavsFan2003 i think i'm going to enter the competition as well. as of now, i'm probably just submitting to the poetry & short story categories for writing, and photography for art.

@birdbear Lol I only do General Assembly, but here's some tips from my friend who does Crisis:

Know your character inside and out. You can deviate from actions your character has historically taken (e.g. if you're King Agamemnon you don't necessarily have to decide to invade Troy, as long as you give a good enough reason for it), but you can't deviate too much and do things that are completely out of character.

Plan out your "character arc" beforehand - know what your short-term and long-term goals are, and make it clear in your notes that your actions are part of an overarching narrative.

Make your crisis notes as specific as possible. Crisis directors love to deliberately misinterpret your notes if you're too vague about what you're trying to accomplish.

Assassinations are fun, but don't attempt too many of them for no reason.

(I'm actually going to a MUN conference - first one of the year - this weekend, and I'm super excited. Best of luck to you!)

Just won my first gavel (Best Delegate) at the Model UN conference I went to this weekend! Super happy :) I might try crisis at my next conference, now that I know my speaking skills are up to par!

I'm finally bowling as a varsity reserve instead of strict JV so that's pretty cool. My coach told me he wants to put me in more which is hecka dope.
