senior year math

long story short my dad is forcing/highly encouraging me to take calc bc next year as I already completed calc ab this yea. I'm also doing other aps (computer science, physics, literature and government) as well as applying to college/scholarships. However, Calc BC and ap chemsitry, which I did this year, are known to be the hardest ap classes my school offers. I had the same teacher who taught calc bc for accelerated pre-calc and it was a mess ! I really struggled in that class and didn't enjoy it a bit. I don't really see the teacher open to helping her students but that's just my opinion. On the other hand, AP statistics is considered an "easy" math. My dad was encouraging me to take calc bc because he says that colleges like when you finish calculus in high school. My gpa is currently 3.8 but I have a C+ in ap chemistry (unless I passed the exam then I will have an A because of the ap incentive at my school). Should I take ap stats or ap calc bc next year as a senior ? Do colleges really care ? Any advice ?

At my children's HS, you could only take AB or BC, not both. Check with your GC to see what your school's rule is.

I already took ap calc ab as a junior and am stuck between stats and calc bc. My school offers both separately

TAke stats. GPA matters more than anything and you've already completed AB.

^ agree. AP stats in your case would make the most sense : you already have calculus AB, BC would suck up a lot if your time that you should spend on your other APs and apps, you don't need bc for your major, and a C in an AP class is detrimental. So ... Stick to AP stats. :)

I would take stats as well. You have completed calc and senior year is stressful enough with college application process.

I just finished AP Stats this year, the curriculum was fairly simple and straightforward. I took BC the year before. Having AP Stats gets another GE out of the way if you pass the exam and is more English than calculations.
