I have received C during my first and second semester of junior year in ap chem. The rest of my grades were all A’s in 3 other Ap including physics, US history and computer science principle. I have good extracurricular activities. I’m trying to go to UGA

I would say that they won't be as concerned of your C if you can get a high AP score. Much more comes into play as they see you as a whole, if you have good EC's then find out how you can make them great in the process. Good luck!

One C wont make or break you, especially in AP Chem. I don't know what exactly your college aspirations are, but as long as your SAT/ACT scores, EC's, and letter of recs are good you should be fine.

This is why we don't recommend taking two AP sciences at once. You should have taken AP Physics this year and AP Chem next year.

What major are you thinking of? You will just have to take Chem again in college like most people (if STEM major)

I disagree with this. A year-long course grade carries much more weight in the admissions process than a 3 hour test. Some schools don’t even consider AP scores during admissions.

A C for the year obviously isn’t as good as an A or a B. But in the overall context of an application, a single grade isn’t a make or break item. It could be a differentiator at Harvard, MIT, etc. For UGA, a very good GPA with a single C in the mix will still put you in a good position.
