I am planning on buying a Texas Instruments calculator. However, I need one that I can use on the SAT, ACT and IB exams. Which do you guys think is better the TI 83+ or the TI 84? For those of you in IB, do they allow the TI 84 on IB exams?..

TI84's are basically TI83's. The one big difference is that the 84 has more memory storage. I currently have a TI84+ Silver Edition. They again have more memory, and I love mine. I don't know about the requirements that much, but if I remember correctly, my calculator had on the front of it when I bought it, a thing saying it could be used for SAT / PSAT / ACT. I would be under the assumption that, if calculators are allowed, TI84's would be allowed for IB as well. (I'm not in IB)

And to answer your question, I think you should get a TI84+ SE.

I would go ahead and get the TI 84+ SE because you may as well get the best in that class if you're going to be spending that sort of money

As the other 2 posters have said, the only difference is the looks and the memory.

I'm not 100% sure, but I'm fairly confident the 84 can be used on IB...I just did a quick google search, and sources seem to agree that they are. So I would go ahead and go for the 84. Of course, you can't have anything stored on them for the IBs, so it might not be worth it, since extra memory is the main advantage. Prettier, too, haha.
