wait what religion do you belong to? I'm curious :)

i got my ear pierced two weeks ago and it only hurt for a few seconds. after those few seconds i didn't feel anything (and still haven't). my advice would be to avoid getting a big stud for your ear, because you'll have to sleep on it for the 4-6 week healing period.

That is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard.

I doubt gay men walk around eying each other's earlobes trying to figure out who's gay and who isn't and then tag team the guy with the "gay earlobe" pierced.

Just pick whichever ear you think looks better.

@gs1002, yeah, im getting one of those tiny little diamond studs, so i should be ok.

@plattsburghloser, i completely agree with you on how ridiculous this ear-piercing thing is, but the problem is that i frequently visit San Francisco, and I just don't want to get the wrong type of attention! ;)

and I wasn't thinking anything dirty, I just chose the logical "none of the above" answer.

getting your ears pierced doesn't hurt. honestly, i didn't even know she had done it (i was talking to somebody and was thinking about something else)...i only "felt it" when i saw the woman doing it

btw, this thread got me thinking...meryl has her right ear pierced, does that make her a closet lesbian? Makes you wonder why she got herself married to a genome soldier....

Piccolo, the rule only applies to men.

And yes, it does exist... so don't go getting your right ear only pierced.

To the OP: It doesn't hurt, it's just a pinch. Usually to get the starter stud off though... that's when you feel the pain. I even got light headed when taking mine off.
