I didn't have my first serious boyfriend until senior year. I kinda dated a guy my sophomore year but I don't really count it, it wasn't much of a relationship. We went to different schools and neither of us could drive so we never actually saw each other. And we didn't "date" for very long.

Some of my prettiest, nicest female friends have never had boyfriends, just 'cause they're shy and the majority of their friends are female. It's not like they don't talk to guys; they just mostly hang out with girls outside of school. And even if the guys that they talk to in school were to like them... I mean, the types of guys who are attracted to smart, shy girls are usually smart and shy themselves and aren't gonna be like "HEY WANNA GO OUT WITH ME?" with the confidence that other guys would.

Same stuff goes for my guy friends. It's even harder for them, since they're the ones expected to take the initiative and ask girls out. Some of these guys are super cute and smart and funny, but wayyy too shy to ask anyone out!

Well, find a shy girl like the ones I described in my first para. You two will be going through the same thing. ;]

    ARGH, *shamefully raises hand*

During the school day I might at most glimpse (yes, as in see, not talk to, haha) a female somewhere close to my age, and very rarely would I consider them, err, girlfriend material (not to sound picky, lol, most of them are a tad, err, young for me, haha. They look 12ish and are freshmen, oh noes).

I have ONE girl in ONE of my classes, haha, and she sits far away, lol, and I don't particularly want to engage in any agonistic mating competitions with any of the other 25 guys in the room.

Lol, and I don't like huge (crowded) social functions with strangers, either, so I'm not too keen on attending any "dances" alone or whatever (since not one of my friends have any inkling of a desire to go to one, either ;/ )

Those friends are all girlfriend-less guys, too, for the most part ;[

College should see my sex life pick up a bit, though, I hope! ;D

Shy people shouldn't be trying to find other shy people. Shy people need to bust out of their comfort zones and lose their shyness.

I haven't had one yet. I talk to girls ALL the time, and last year at prom I sat at a table with 7 girls. But those aren't actually relationships. I'm not dating material.

I haven't had a boyfriend, and I'm fine with it.

I've had offers so I don't see it as this horrible horrible thing. It makes me more independent, which I'm VERY thankful for when i see these girls bouncing from relationship to relationship because they don't know how to be single.

Another reason is because I'm a traditionalist. I want HIM to approach ME. and I hate dances. I've been to a few and they are a pain. I must be the only girl in the world who hasn't been dreaming of prom since she was 6 :P

I've got my eye on someone now tho.. ;)

^I had NO desire to go to prom until a few months into senior year, when a friend of mine talked me into it. I was planning to go dateless, because I knew there was no way I would be asking anyone and I didn't think anyone would ask me. As it turned out I started dating my boyfriend midway through senior year, so automatic prom date, lol. Of course I had to technically "bring" him because he was too young to go without being my date.

O hai guise. I've never had a girlfriend, and I've only touched a girl during high school once - during a strange dance lesson in English class. Never been to a school dance or a party outside of school. However, I have done a bit of cyb0ring on an mmorpg I play. I still consider myself extroverted.

poseur, i'm the kind of girl you were talking about(except, idk if i'm very pretty, i guess so). anyway, i haven't had a boyfriend. but i have been asked though. i said no b/c the guy was younger and i was a little uncomfortable about it, and i guess you can include the time that one of my friends tried to set me up with one of his friends but i didn't want a blind date.

Proudly, I am one of these people.

My life is guided by priorities. Simply said, I feel like getting into Stanford is more important than having a girlfriend. Also, I feel like dating means you're looking for marriage, and high school seems a bit early to decide who you want to spend the rest of your life with, doesn't it???

I still got to dances and HC, and I've got girl-friends. I can also say I've come close, but I prefer just to be friends. There's also all that drama, time, and headache that one can get from a relationship, especially when a couple breaks up o.O

No, and I don't think I could handle the time commitment.

I agree with ttan. I have been on and off with the same girl since sophomore year(and we are sort of dating right now). I would just say that its kind of waste, but some high school sweethearts beg to differ. It's not that big a deal if you havent had a relationship in high school. I just think that you should put yourself out there for all those introverts. After all, you only live once ha

I'm not a senior, but I haven't really had a boyfriend yet. I tried to date my best friend freshman year, but the relationship ended before anything happened (over-protective sister and friends, they didn't know him and kept too close an eye on him, he got freaked out).

Thankfully, I know I won't be alone when I end up being forced to go to senior prom (my mom's let me miss all the other dances under the condition that I'd go to my senior prom). Back in freshman year, my group of four closest friends agreed we'd all go to the prom together, no matter what, and no one would be left out.

I'm a high school senior whose never had a girlfriend. It's not that I am extremely shy or crazy, just that I don't really care. I talk to everyone and am friends with almost everyone, its just that I don't think about anyone like that.
