Fat People...

Do you think fat people should get into shape? Excluding genetic conditions.

I'm honestly tired of fat people ruining things for me. Fat free this, fat free that. I know fat isn't good for you, but sometimes you just want something tasty. In my school they took fries and vending machines out because of obese kids.

I'm also tired of fat people suing McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's, etc for getting fat eating their stuff when they chose to eat it.

LOL at your last sentence, though I agree with you. Its definitely their own responsibility to control their eating level. It shouldnt be the government or the state to "help" them thin down, they should do it themselves by ^yes excercising.
I remember watching a documentary in my health class during freshmen year, and the guy wanted to see how his health would change if he ate mcdonalds for 30 days straight. Even though he was trying to make people aware of unhealthy food, I thought it was stupid because people should know better than to eat fast food everyday, 3 meals a day. Its unrealistic.

California passed some law that bans candy and chips and all that from schools, so now al the food I sometimes bought are gone. Its pretty annoying; now no one really buys school food anymore.

But you know, banning junk food and the fat free labels are not just for the sake of heavier people, its for health in general. I would rather buy the organic and fat free items than the originals.

    Supersize Me. I remember that.

I think that the fat free stuff should be geared more towards people in general who want to stay healthy. The fat people who don't care about their health can go be fat, for all I care.

Fat free snacks are so paradoxical in my opinion. If you just ate normal-sized proportions during mealtimes and ate no snacks, then you would actually lose some weight. Ideally, you would eat smaller proportioned meals every few hours to keep your metabolism up and exercise regularly. Of course, this only applies if genetics has nothing to do with it.

But it bugs me how so many Americans are overweight. I mean, most of the world suffers from a dearth of food, and here we are with an obesity epidemic.

I have never had a school lunch in my life. Also, I'm not overweight and I love fat free foods, especially dairy products.

Well, one thing I believe is that if we'll never have a universal health care system at this rate.

Its not only "fat" people that will prevent this from happening - its also thin people who eat candy bars and chips galore.

My bf eats about 3 times what he needs and its all mainly unhealthy. Hes thin and stays thin though. His being thin doesn't mean hes healthy on the inside. Fat people just show it, I know many thin people who eat far worse than any overweight people I've met.

I think people should be given a choice of what to eat, but overweight people should not be specifically targeted. Plenty of people have poor eating habits.

I think high school kids are adult enough to make their own decision, but healthier programs in elementary schools and jr. highs are good.

Also, as someone who eats healthier, I assure you I have a much more difficult time finding something actually healthy (with not a buttload of artificial ingredients) then you do in finding something unhealthy to eat.

It's not just fat people, it's general health. I eat tons of unhealthy stuff, but my lovely, youthful metabolism lets me stay thin. I only know a handful of people who eat what they should. Most people just eat what they want.

I don't know. I'm for it, though. Way too many fat kids at my school.

Lawsuits against fastfood companies are ridiculous. People should take responsibility for their own health.

However, I do understand that many people are fat due to their genetic disposition and metabolism.

Unhealthy: Not getting all the essential nutrients in the diet.

Fat: Taking in more calories than you need and not using them.

Exercising can "block" that gene & kick up the metabolism.

"People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can't find them, make them."

You can't sue fast-food companies because of the Cheeseburger Bill. Of course it's our responsibilty to determine what we put into our bodies, but the franchises should be banned from making hamburgers/salads/milkshakes/parfaits over a 1000 calories. The government should really be doing something about it. Plus, processed food is just NASTY; I don't see why you would want to fill your bodies up with preservatives, hormone producing chemicals... I mean, if the cafeteria didn't fill up their meals with all this processed food...
Has ANYONE noticed how early kids are getting puberty lately??? SIX YEARS OLD. I kid you not. Outrageous/ ridiculous

    - Consumming high sugar/fat/ junk food leads to aggressiveness... I've really been figuring that out lately. I've been super snappy at people after moving here where the school is full of vending machines EVERYWHERE unlike my old school where we didn't even have vending machines, but we were able to eat off campus.

BTW: Humans def. do not need dairy products. Why does the FDA still tell us we need it through the Food Guide Pyramid. Clearly, if 2/3 of the world's population is lactose-intolerant, isn't that something? "Cavemen" during the Neolithic period didn't even suck up milk from goats/cows/rats/dogs/ whatever was out there, and they were much healthier than Americans TODAY in a modernized era. I wish everyone would stop with the milk saying how it's good for you, etc. 'cuz research has proven that it's full of pus, bacteria, potential infectious diseases, etc...

I love quadruple stackers though (Burger King). I really don't care if they're 1100 calories.

Those aren't that big considering the energy content. They should be banned from something like adding in all those unnecessary preservatives/junk that make it more than it should be. Seriously, why do you even need that much meat in one meal? That's over the limit there & plainly indulging in the food. Gluttony.

Then again, it's your life & your choice. Lol.
I think you should work at BK just to see how the food is really done, and if you still want to eat it.

    - I really wonder if restaurants would start putting stuff like, "According to the surgeon general, this food can be a leading cause to heart disease, obesity, cancer, diabetes, etc, etc." just like they put in on alcohol & tobacco.

I hate it when people think 'fat free' = healthy. Probably the most important thing about weightloss is calorie control, and a LOT of the fat free stuff out there is actually higher in calories and carbs.

P.s., and no, I don't think fat people should be forced to get into shape. Though, I think everyone should be educated on how to eat healthily. I'm sick of going out and finding nothing healthy to eat.

unless they have a genetic problem and have a medical reason for it, it is ridiculous.

Being fat is NOT a handicap!

Of course I don't want to know how it's made. It's not like I'm fat either.

I don't care if people who are older want to screw up their bodies. At least they know what they're doing to themselves. But I want to punch the parents who have kids that are 1/3 of my height and twice my weight and are taking them through McDonald's. It is child abuse! You are condemning that child to a very difficult and unhealthy life. Eating habits are learned young, and it is much easier to stay thin than it is to lose weight.

I do not mind the fact that they banned fatty foods, but I think schools need to look deeper into the problem. It is not just the pop that's at fault. It is also the over-processed pathetic excuse of food that is to blame.

I agree that it sucks that people who are obese (by their own choosing) expect people with self control to pay for them. I think you should have to pay your health insurance based on how healthy of a life you live. Some one like me who is a vegetarian, works out nearly every day, and stays away from alcohol, drugs, and tobacco should not be forced to shoulder the same medical burden as somebody who smokes a pack a day, is grossly obese, and eats at McDonalds for three meals a day. It's just not right.

I totally agree that everyone shouldn't be paying the same amount--

it's their fault they don't have control over how much/ what they put in their mouths because we are all given the same choice.

Getting rid of unhealthy foods isn't only for the obese kids, it's also for the other kids to keep them healthy.
