Troy High School Fullerton or Eastvale Roosevelt STEM

Hey guys, this is a topic I been thinking months about. I have the chance to attend ERHS STEM (my home school) or Fullerton Troy High School. I thought I had more chance to think about my decision, but to my surprise, the results came out today instead of early March. I am planning to go into the field of computer science. I would appreciate any opinions and thoughts.

Hello there, current '20 senior at Troy, and I'd like to give you a bit of my opinion. If I'm going to be completely honest, I will have a stronger tendency to favor Troy after my four years of education and participation within the school. Troy is quite phenomenal in what the school has to offer to the students from their Troy Tech program which allows strong connections to companies such as Boeing and Google along with its internal resources such as CyberPatriot competitions and a massive entire section of the campus dedicated solely for computer science. However, from looking at my classmates and experience, what I can say the most is that if you are passionate to pursue within the field of computer science, I would recommend continuing with your home school in Riverside. The high school education and should be in a way that supplements your knowledge and help propel you towards where you want to go in life. Given your geographic location, and the tendency for Troy to be a nightmare to navigate through unless you have greatly sectioned out time zones for arrival, departure, and on campus activities. If you do plan on going to move to Fullerton for Troy, by all means, I would recommend the school very highly, great campus staff, and many teachers who actively care for your pursuits and want to help you. Otherwise, your home school looks great to help start up your pursuit in the field of computer science. Make sure to develop yourself as a character by showing why you are passionate to get into the field of computer science rather than just simply created a resume based around GPA, standardized test scores, and winning competitions. Universities want to select people that can make use of their resources. Don't look away from the benefits of internships and actual hands-on professional experience with your field of interest.

    Anyhow, best of luck
    THS'20
