Should I drop apush or continue taking it?

I recently moved to Georgia and was scheduled to take apush in my old school I am a junior but today my counsellor told me I already completed they're world history requirements by taking American studies honors last year and I need a government class but that is all freshmen and I don't want to take it, she said if I stick with the class it's a social study elective and a bad idea because it's just a duplicate of my old course, should I take another ap? I'm taking ap Lang and stat but aiming for Georgia tech so will I be at disadvantage taking gov this late since freshmen year took it

Georgia might require government class so don't skip it if you need it. Does school not offer AP government that you can take instead? Maybe you can do that online. Did your old school let you take regular American history and the AP. That does seem to be repetitive.
