Grades and test scores aren’t enough. Class Val at D’s school was wait listed with an UW 4.0/and 1600 SAT. Makes a big difference if you are instate or out

You have to have a minimum number of posts to PM members.

The average unweighted GPA for the Class of 2023 was 3.9+ for the CoE. The median SAT was 1,440, with a middle 50% range of 1,380-1,540 (overall).

EC's and essays are important to the UMich app.

And @momofsenior1 is correct. Last admissions cycle (Class of 2023), there was an applicant with 4.0/1,600 who was deferred EA and rejected RD, who ultimately attended Cal Tech.

Do your best and hope for the best.

Given the current pandemic do you think it is necessary to submit SAT subject tests in Math 2 Chemistry and Physics

Or is a great GPA, SAT score and ECs enough

Whenever the situation becomes better do you think SAT subject tests and AP exams should be given to even think about getting admitted into UMich ? For the fall 2021 term

First of University of Michigan and Umich is the same school.. Lol

Michigan doesn't need subject tests. So research the school to learn about what you need and what you don't.

The avg lsa students is 3.9 unweighted with 32-35 Act. Engineering is 3.93 with 34 Act. Not a huge difference here.

Take the most rigorous classes that you can but still get great grades. Take physic C and Calc BC by senior year or higher math like Mutivariate Calc etc for senior year. Take AP Chem.

Do a few Ecs for 2-4 years and that is meaningful for you. Don't do things to" get in" any school.

International numbers will be down this fall. Will be interesting if schools compensate next year for that.. Don't know...

Contact your AO for Michigan. Ask questions that can't be found on the website. Connect with a professor and ask questions about what your interested in. Use that in your essay.

Learn what the school moto is and what leaders and best means. Learn their mission statement. Does that reflect your views?

It is a reach school for just about everyone. Have backups. Don't fall in love with any school.

    Good Luck.

Got in with a 1560, 4.75 weighted GPA, 3.93 unweighted GPA, the highest level AP courses my high school offered with 5’s and 4’s, swimming at regional and state level all of high school, founding a global health club. However, I got merit money, so there’s a lot of breathing room with that and if you have engineering EC’s that can help a lot because that was a big weakness for me.
