Alternative Teaching Credential - California

I know that Teach for America is a great way to get your alternative teaching credential while still getting paid. I also know it is very competitive to get into. I was just wondering if there were different programs or ways to get your alternative teaching credential while still getting paid? Just was looking into other things in case I don't get into Teach for America. Thanks.

I can't find anything offhand on such a program in California; but a number of states have "lateral entry" programs where you start teaching and earn your licensure as you go.

Well I was just wondering because I was looking for any teaching job I can find in California or Nevada where I could do what you said, start teaching while getting paid and earning my alternative license at the same time. I just don't know where to start looking, but I've heard from people that jobs like that are there.
