So there isn't a thread for Google BOLD 2018 yet, so thought Id create one for people to share and discuss their progress with their application progress. I applied in late October and waiting anxiously for a response.

    Hey awesome! I also applied for the bold program but early October. Do you think my chances will be affected if I sent in two supplemental forms?I made a mistake on my first one so i sent in another a few weeks later. Hope I still have a chance here!

    @koalajashik I think you would be fine.

    Did anyone else find it weird how there were no supplemental questions? Just a resume and transcript. Much different from previous years.

    @Vicvonda Did you attend Bold Immersion or do you have a referral from a Google employee? So unusual that you were offered within a week of the application closing.

    @youngwiz lol yeah I kept feeling like I was missing something on the application because I read so much about the supplemental material but it wasn't there, I guess that makes it easier for us and them...

    @Vicvonda Wow, congratulations! That's awesome. Would you mind telling us about what role you applied for/were accepted to and more about your interviews (tips/suggestions perhaps)?

    Applied towards the end of October. I also had no questions, only transcript and resume.

    @youngwiz I didnt do Immersion or get a referral but I am in MLT which expedites the process for us. @blurbs21 thank you very much!! I would be happy to talk about my experience.

    @vicvonda I am thinking of applying to the position next year because I didn't satisfy the graduation requirements for this year. Can I ask what your major is and things I should do this year to add to my resume for the position?

    Thanks!

    @Vicvonda what is MLT?
  • VicvondaVicvonda Registered User Posts: 16 Junior Member
    @Hoosallday MLT stands for Management Leadership for Tomorrow and its an organization that specializes in training and prepping minorities for the business world. @flondon I am going to be with the GMS Sales team and I am a Psychology major focusing in Cognitive Neuroscience. For my role it's more about communication and people skills so my current job at school is at the front desk, so I spend a lot of time talking and helping people. Which role would you be interested in?

    @vicvonda I am an information and decision science major with a concentration in business analytics. I currently am a co op at a national lab and hope maybe to help with administrative or service and support tasks!

    Has anyone else heard anything back? Even about an interview? It makes me nervous that it's December and I still haven't heard anything except for the email yesterday talking about their application review process.

    @roombazoomba Based on that email I feel fine. It said not to worry if you have not been contacted yet.
