Do I need to bring references to a job interview?

I am 18 years old and have been invited for a job interview at a department store on Wednesday. I have never had a job interview before, so I'm not sure if I need to bring along references. Is it necessary? Will I make a bad impression if I don't? Have any of you gotten a part-time job without supplying any references? Please advise.
