I am from a top Jesuit college prep high school in Missouri
My GPA is about a 3.9 weighted....top 10%
I scored a 32 on my act plus writing
SAT: verbal-650
math-710
writing-700

Classes-I have taken the toughest course load my school has to offer except for math.

APs: Chemistry-5, Biology-5. I also plan to take AP government, AP Lit and writing, and AP spanish (4th year)

ECs: I am very involved in community service and social justice, above and beyond required service including service retreats and clubs.

I am in charge of the tuturing program my school offers. And I have been a tutor in spanish, math, english, and science since sophomore year.

I was class President Freshman and Sophomore year, a rep junior year, and probably a rep senior year. Part of the Spirit club and a key member of the Student Government Association the past 3 years.

I played football freshman year, made the A team. I have played lacrosse every year, varsity sophomore-senior year. Both our lacrosse and football teams are strong state competetors each year. We won state in lacrosse my junior year.

I play lacrosse year round but during the summer i work 40 hrs/week for a technology company that designs and build robotics for pharmacies.

I participated in the annual science knowledge bowl last year, and plan to do so again next year. I did very well.

I plan to retake the SAT this october and should do better, probably around 2100.

I plan to apply to the school of engineering

What are my chances?

I like the looks of your profile, cogdawg. But I do have a question. If Engineering is your interest, why didn't you take the toughest courseload in math? What math have you taken/will you take in senior year?

I do know that many Engineering schools realize that students come in with varying levels of math preparation, and therefore have various math sequences for incoming Freshman. But your comment re courseload just struck me.

I know. It started freshman year i didnt take the test to get into the highest math class. Since then i have had pretty bad teachers and though i have done fairly well in the classes, but not top notch. I have never really had the math motivation because i haven't had a teacher that i have liked. Dont get me wrong I will be taking honors applied calculus next year, but it isn't AP.
I know math is a crucial part of the engineering curriculum, but i am more interested in chemical engineering and materials science and engineering, which also have a heavy focus on chemistry/physics

I'd love to help you but I don't really know. All I know is my situation and that I got in, no idea how comfortably. It sounds like you would be a competitive applicant.
