NYU Chances

I'm currently a student at NYU as an undergrad and I have received my LSAT scores. I got the target score which I wanted, 172. I was hoping for anything over 170.

However, I'm worried about my GPA which isn't exactly stellar. It's slightly over a 3.5. My major was economics and some courses were harder than others. I'm worried because I saw that even kids with 3.6 GPAs were rejected. Also, I'm not a URM. I'm Indian.

So, I just wanted feedback from people. I don't think being an undergrad student at the school will have many benefits. Thanks.

NYU also accepted students with a 3.6/171 this past spring, so you will be competitive. Just make your essays and recs awesome.

    Good luck.

If this cycle is as uncompetitive as I think it is, you will get into some T14s... if only Georgetown or UVA. NYU is certainly doable but it's more of a stretch than Georgetown or UVA. Maybe UPenn if you feel like it.

I think you have a shot. As far as going there for undergrad, yes, it could give you an (ever so slight) edge. Congrats on the 172 and good luck.

P.S. I agree with bluebayou; make sure your essay and recs are solid and stand out. Let us know how it goes!
