Core Courses for Admissions

We've looked at the core courses she needs for admissions and we might have an issue. We're an OOS admission. My daughter's courses are not listed the same as they are on their page. Is this a hard and fast rule with LSU or do they look at courses and determine if they are basically the same?

Contact LSU's admissions office to find out. Be wary if the person who answers the phone gives you an answer that doesn't sound completely informed, because they may be a student helper and not an administrator.

She just got back the status of her app and it said they needed a mid-year report. My daughter emailed the admissions counselor for our area. I kid you not, the answer I got was a link to the page with the core courses. Did not answer the question at all. He said after they received her mid-year report, her app would go to holistic review.

Sad part is that it's literally just the names of the course which I think is causing this issue. She was in line for a scholarship based on the stated criteria IF they consider her courses as meeting the core requirements. I hope this delay in admissions doesn't hurt her scholarship chances.

Yeah, LSU seems to be having a bit of a tough time handling thousands of applications. I turned my app in all the way in August and they received all my documents in October. I even got an email from them saying that they have received all my documents. Then, all of a sudden in mid-October, my status went from all documents received to, " Official documents are required". I emailed them and they asked for my TOEFL. I told them that I already have a 600 in Critical Reading and they responded that I don't have to take it then. In addition, I replied again asking them which things I need to turn in and they said that they will email me back If I am missing anything. It has been a little over 2 weeks and still nothing. LSU is still a great college! :)

southbel, e-mail the counselor again and explain the web page course names don’t match. If you get another non-answer, call the admissions office.
