Seems that Mac continues to lower their acceptance rate. Congrats to everyone who got in and to those that did not there are more on the horizon!

My daughter just heard she did not get accepted but she had just accepted another offer, so at least no heartbreak today.

Daughter accepted with $10k DeWitt Scholarship! 33 ACT, 3.7 GPA, lots of extracurriculars. Not sure where she'll end up (two other acceptances with scholarships and waiting to hear from one more) but it sure is nice to have this as a choice. Congrats to those who received good news today and those who didn't please know you'll land in the right place!

Waitlisted :( I’m so disappointed right now. This was my number one choice. I don’t think I’ve ever felt this heartbroken or sad. At least I have tissues.

GPA pretty well (top 5 in class)
    5 AP scores
    Applied for anthropolgy
    Lots of ECs

PS. There is an admitted students gathering in my city! Excited to find out that.

@Zeylanite congrats! When you say $50K do you mean total over the four years or $50K per year? I thought the Turck scholarship only ranged in $12-15K PER year.

They seem to be making more use of the waitlist this year, probably because of the over-admit last year. The danger is they make the opposite mistake. As indeed they did in 2017!

Son just got in :) 3.85 weighted GPA, ACT 33, maybe 8 AP classes, scored 5s on all tests so far, varsity athlete in three sports (although he's actually a nerdy bookworm; we made him get involved in sports to get him off of the couch), meaningful essays. He says his portal doesn't mention a scholarship; we'll look again. Since he has scholarship offers from all of the other schools he's been admitted to, this is a factor.

DD just got waitlisted. 35 ACT / 3.96 GPA unweighted / 800 on Math subject test / all-state musician. Very difficult, as Mac was her top choice.
