The Countdown to Pi Day: Dun Dun Dunnn

nrityanritya Registered User Posts: 500 Member
I can't believe that there are LESS THAN 10 DAYS UNTIL DECISIONS, especially since the MIT forum is so quiet! 3/14 is only 9 days away, practically 8 since today's almost over! That's like basically a week away... (don't you loveee my math?)

Anyhow, I am so disappointed in you CC'ers! I expected some high-tension freaking out and have been waiting since mid-February for all the crazies to come out and be like "673820484929283 MORE SECONDS TILL DECISIONS!!11!!1!"

I guess... I will have to be that freak. As I am typing this, there are less than 749858 seconds until decisions! That's about 8 Days 10 Hours 17 Minutes & 23 Seconds!!!

EDIT: I expect that people will be like, "UN UHHH we didn't get OFFICIAL confirmation that MIT decisions will be on pi day," but I'm pretty sure they're gonna be on pi day. Come on. When HAVEN'T they been on pi day?

Well, personally I'm not nearly as freaked out as you.

But I do have my pi shirt ready :) and my friends and I are having a pie party--you pay if you're accepted to MIT.

    Sent from my iPod Shuffle.

MIT Admissions | Blog Entry: "Decision Mail Date: March 11" this is one day for example when they didn't release decisions on Pi day....... anyways, I'm also not totally freaking out, even if college is a really big dream hoping to become reality for me.
I'll spend my time doing some chores while decisions come out, nothing more.

    I'm freaking out with nritya!!
Once I find out whether I get in or not I will be fine. I can accept my fate and move on.
But waiting is KILLING ME!!!!! I can't deal with the anticipation - pi day is so close... yet so far away.

damn you murtaza! I followed your link, thought it was from March 5, 2011, had a panic attack, celebrated because I thought my wait was three days shorter, and then realized it was from 2005. Then I cried... bitter, cold tears. THANKS.

lol but.. yeah I guess you're right. harumph. BUT WHEN WHEN WHEN are they going to announce the date! They had done it by yesterday last year! GAWD I WONDER HOW THEY WOULD'VE REACTED IF I WAS THIS LATE SENDING THEM MY APPLICATION. *furiously types and glares at un-updated MIT blog pointlessly*

its March 6th and a Sunday here, offices in US are closed for Sunday, so they'll prolly tell the actual decision date between March 7-9th

@nritya -- your name suggests you're from India or from Indian heritage, I won't jump to conclusions so correct me, am I right? :)
Good luck to all of us for the decisions.

I'm trying not to freak out, which is going okay.
What isn't going okay is trying not to think about it.
I've pretty much been living on the admissions blogs the last couple days.
I have two big papers due in the next two weeks and I can't concentrate on them at all.
    What to focus on...
Mrs. Dalloway or MIT? Japanese tainted-blood scandal or MIT?
The result of years of work and five months of waiting will be revealed in eight days.
    This is ridiculous.

If I'm this anxious waiting for the decisions date to be announced, I can't imagine how I'll be when the decisions are released.

I'll probably be camping on pi day, so if they do come out, good luck dudes.

I've actually been calmed down by a deferred EA decision and thinking going to MIT isn't the end all of everything. I just got back from a FIRST robotics comp and it was amazing. I'm just spending my time enjoying it with friends and getting work done and having fun. If I get in, yay! If not, oh well, the world's gonna keep turning and I'm gonna be happy.

  • ceresmaceresma Registered User Posts: 389 Member

Yeah dude, I thought my parents were kind of poor because of how we live, but it turns out that we make almost double what I thought... bummer.
