What are the differences in studying Undergraduate Computer Science from a liberal arts college (like Williams or Harvey Mudd) and getting it from the college of L&S from somewhere like Purdue or UIUC, etc?

Everything you ask is very dependent on the specific school and department. Generalizations based on your examples will mislead.

You'll get more personalized attention and an emphasis on teaching at the liberal arts colleges. The larger schools will give you a wider selection of classes.

There are exceptions. HM is part of a consortium with several top LACs and a dedicated science center. YOu'd have a wide selection of classes there akin to a large university.

@Dustyfeathers, though I doubt that the CS catalog at the other Claremonts would be more extensive than what you find at HMC.
