McGill Acceptance Decisions Class 2023 (Entering 2019)

Since it's my first child going to college, I can't stop biting my nails about his acceptance results. I know it's too early but to start the conversation between the brilliant young men and women applying to college and the poor worried moms and dads about chances.

If you hear any positive news or even received further requests from McGill, please post it so we can all benefit out of it. Good luck everyone and may you all achieve your dreams

If accepted please post your:

Faculty
Citizenship status
GPA
ACT
SAT/Subject tests
IELTS/TOEFL
Scholarship

Last year decisions for American applicants began to be released in late November. McGill admits by stats and it is top down. Applicants with the highest stats will hear first. The closer you are to the minimum the later the decision will come out, regardless of when you completed your application.

There is also some variation by program. Desautels decisions have come out a bit alter than others.

has anyone gotten a decision yet? people keep saying they release by highest stats and I am pretty sure I am at the higher end (1530 SAT and 4.0 gpa) but haven't received any notifications and nothing in the portal. Are they later for US students?

@chutneysudder The website says that for US applicants decisions will start to be released mid-December. This is a bit later than in past years.

Does anyone know how they notify you? Also, does the time when your application was submitted matter? I submitted mine a while ago but had to call up the school because they hadn't processed my SAT until a week ago. Has me thinking that even though I might be higher in the pool my application might not get seen until a little later.

@refn100 Release of decisions is not based on when the application was submitted.

for those who admitted, is there a link to the PDF of official offer? McGill's website says there is but I don't see any link in Minerva.

actually never mind. It seems the PDF of official letter of admission takes a few hours to show up in Minerva. Mine just appeared in Minerva.

    Hey guys.
I am a student from India and I have applied to the Faculty of Arts. I got FRR a couple of days back. Is this a good sign? Also I am asked to upload the mid year transcript. However the issue is that I had included my mid year grades in the transcript I originally submitted. I have my pre finals now but I won't get the result till late January. What should I do?

@Jonaerysion123 That’s an interesting point. Best I can tell, even if your mid year marks are in the application itself, you must put them in the proper checklist spot as well. This is because they determine if your application is complete first and foremost by checking that all your documents are in and in. An empty document prompt is an easy FRR for them, even if the information is present elsewhere. So, just get a copy of your mid marks on their own, and submit those.
