Diversity at Miami Oxford

I've read a lot on how the diversity at Miami Oxford isn't that great. Are these exaggerations or is it actually fine in that aspect? I'd appreciate any feedback. Thank you :)

What kind of diversity are you talking about? You can look at the common data set for Miami in terms of racial diversity.

@saillakeerie Yes, I meant racial diversity. I've looked at that and according to that it isn't that great either. So I want to get another view from someone who knows the school since I'm looking to apply there.

There is very little racial diversity at Miami.

It's a very good school, and I know they've been trying for years to improve on diversity, but I don't think it's been very successful. If diversity is a big part of what you are looking for, I would not recommend it.

I'll second what @suzy100 said. Miami is a great school, but it is not very diverse, racially speaking. If that kind of diversity is important to you, you might want to look elsewhere.

Our daughter just attended a program called the "Bridges" as an OOS Student. It is intended to increase diversity at Miami U. The idea behind the program is to show prospective students what Miami is trying to do about increasing diversity. Not just racial diversity, but economic, religion, etc..... We took a tour last year and she liked the feel of the school and how positive the feedback has been for her intended Business major. She just got back this weekend from this Bridges program and she absolutely LOVED everything she saw. Granted it was only one overnight stay, but she was able to participate in many activities including attending a couple of business classes. There were about 150 kids from all over the country and from all walks of life in this particular session.

Having said that, many of the posters have noted that it is not known to have a lot of racial diversity. However, my daughter liked the school and the Business program and she does not foresee this to be an issue. Miami is high on her list of schools.
