Confusing letter

Today in the mail, I received a letter from MU Ohio. It was addressed to the parents of the Caron family, and was basically trying to say I should go there. The only problem is, Caron is not my last name. I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else, and if it means I am accepted; because I'd doubt they would send a letter such as this one to students they would deny.

Maybe the letter wasn't meant for you? I would just call the admissions office. That letter could mean a lot to someone.

A while back, I got a letter from the University of Miami (FL) addressed to myself, but at the top, it said "Maxwell". I have a nearby neighbor in the same grade with this first name, so I assumed that the university was corresponding with myself and him.

Honestly, I would not worry about it; the admissions office sends thousands of letters a day with a fair amount of success, and you just happened to be in their 1% margin of error. Pitch the letter, or file it if you like, and move on.

I'm sure Miami of Ohio still loves you :)
