You should be ok. UW is a bit low. Try getting your scores up a bit and you should be fine :)

    Middle ACT is 23-28 btw.

It is not anymore difficult for a freshmen to be admitted as a business major than a non-business major. However, you don't actually become a full business major until you apply as a sophomore.

So U mean to say a 1700 or 1710 score is enough? Wow...I didn't know that.

I didn't say that actually. MSU only uses the M + CR scores anyway. What is the break down of those?

    M(580)+CR(530)....I think!

That's about right in the middle. Test scores alone generally will not get you in or keep you out.

Thanks:D what will make it or break it :P I visited MSU this spring and loved it! I just have a thing for big ten schools i guess. Great place and can't wait to apply! Thanks for all your help. The essays are released in mid August for the application right?

There is not one single factor. It's a combination of GPA, ACT/SAT, ECs, etc. For example, my friend that applied with me had a 32 ACT but only a 3.2 GPA and didn't get in. That was hs class of 09 and standards have gone up since then.

Yes, sometime in August. Not sure when.

I think Dylan will get in. Apply early. You will either get admitted in October or they will ask for 1st semester senior year grades in which event you will hear later. ACT score is not the issue. GPA is potentially an issue but if high school is good and curriculum is rigorous an unweighed B+ with upward trend should be good enough. OOS should help.

You're also a match at Indiana, Iowa and Minnesota if you are interested in other Big Ten alternatives. I assume Nebraska too and maybe OSU and PSU. You would be a reach for Michigan, Northwestern, Illinois, Wisconsin and maybe Purdue.
