Trying to switch residence hall

I was thinking about requesting a different residence hall. I looked over the procedure of trying to add my name to the waiting list for a different hall, and followed the directions to MyHousing system but I never saw an option to add my name to the waiting list. Is there usually a general time this is made available?

Also, do people on the waiting list start getting assignments to new halls before, or after the fall semester starts?

And what is the likelihood that my request to switch is granted.

Does anyone know a better way to try and get another hall?

I think you can start requesting after a week or so. They want to make sure students give their rooms/roommates/halls a chance before deciding to switch out. And it will be after the semester starts. You can probably move but I don't know why you'd want to. What is it that makes you want to move so badly?
