Requesting 7th semester grades MSU

It appears as though something strange is going on. I know of kids who were accepted with a 3.5 GPA and 25 ACT, while others with a 3.7/33 have gotten the request for 7th semester grades. I was under the impression that a 3.0 was acceptable at MSU as well. Does anyone have anything to offer on the subject? Thanks in advance.

Since no one knows which MSU you are referring to, no.

yeah i got the same letter i had a 3.4 UW 3.7 W with 12 AP/Honors classes. Got a 27 on the ACT. Captain of the robotics team, student council, programming club, spanish club, multiple summer programs, honor roll, national honor society, solid essay, (etc.) . I was heart broken, its my dream school. Im really depressed, i even called them and they wouldn't even tell me why i was not accepted the first time. At this point i just want to know what kind of grades the first semester i need to get in. Its really hard to focus on school when my best buddies are getting in and i'm just off by myself.

I got this letter last year as well. My 7th semester gpa was like at a 3.4 and after a lot of waiting I found out in April I was accepted. Just do as best as you can and be patient!

    Has anyone received this notification:

Your application to Michigan State is still under review. Due to increases in the quantity and quality of the freshman application pool for the fall semester, our office is carefully monitoring space and conducting thorough examinations of all fall semester applicants. Although no new information is available at this time, you will receive a decision on the status of your application on or before March 25, 2016.

Please DO NOT send any additional documents to our office unless specifically requested; doing so will delay the review process for your application.

We kindly ask that you refrain from phoning or emailing the Office of Admissions during this extended review period. The most up-to-date information will be posted to your online student portal as soon as it becomes available.

Thanks HSStudent124. It sounds like all the deferred applicants received the same notice. No "good" or "bad" deferreal letters like with U of M. Good sign, I guess.
