Holding out hope but expecting a denial. After my initial application MSU responded that they see me as a competitive student but want to see my 1st q high school grades( 3 A's, 3 B's). Current classes are Spanish 4, Sociology, Creative Writing, Personal Finance and Psychology. It is now under a second review. I only scored a 960 sat but have a 3.6 gpa.

medium to low chance....i hate to be THAT guy but your SAT is really low. We have the same GPA, but that SAT is what is gonna kill you.
Retake it 2 more times, i would advise getting a 1140+. I had an 1150 with a 3.625 GPA and got in.

    Good luck!

Thanks. Unfortunately I took the SAT three times and that's the best score I had (even had a tutor). I'm a terrible test taker and that's going to hurt my chances. I'm thinking that's why MSU asked to see my 1st q grades rather than retake the SAT again. Hoping all my extra curricular activities count for something. Anybody out there in the boat I am?

What was the exact response they gave you? Just 2 weeks back they requested my progress grades (4 A’s 2 B+’S) but I’m in physics, pre calc, English 12, Advanced engineering, health, and physiology. I sent them in but they still have not received them. I have a 3.33 GPA(High upward trend from freshmen year) and a 1280 SAT(660 Math 620 English). From what I have heard through my counselor, it means that you are close. I’m hoping for the best though...

You should be getting an answer back soon. It took about 2 weeks before my MSU page was updated. You'll get in no problem, especially with your sat score. I don't know of anyone who got in with a 960 sat(530 English 430 Math). good luck!

Did it take 2 weeks for your progress grades to get in or your transcripts. My transcripts only took about a week but I’m already a little over 2 weeks waiting for my progress grades. If it was your progress grades that got received in 2 weeks, what happened to your portal? What did it say?
