DS is an incoming freshman. Could someone please give me some insights about banking at MSU? Which bank do most students use? Does the bank's ATM easily accessible around campus? Thanks.

MSU Federal Credit Union-several ATMs throughout campus.
Bank of America- offices and ATMs on Grand River

FYI, MSU Credit Union's ATMs charge a $2 fee if you use them to withdraw from other banks. They're located everywhere: there's one in almost all the dorms. In my first year, I found myself visiting the MSU Credit Union ATMs far more often than my own bank's ATM on Grand River.

^I'd definitely go with MSU federal credit union. It is so much more convenient than any other bank, with ATMs in almost every dorm/along grand river/in the student union etc..
