You Beat the Beast!

Congratulations also on your inspiring class motto:

2009. For Your Freedom ... And Mine.

Go to www.usma.edu for a nice shot of the class banner and honor company passing the reviewing stand at Quarters 100.

I was at the "March Back" this a.m. The New Cadets looked great. My son was on the outside of his row - toward the side of the street I was standing. Luckily he caught my eye - had a big Cheshire Cat grin on his face. We didn't exchange any words but I walked along side him for about 50 yards.

They marched past the Supt's House - then by Company sat on the grass in front of the barracks - Parents were kept about 50 to 80 yards away. They sat there eating MRE's. Those who wanted to get up and wave at us would then do 10 or 15 pushups in penance. Many push-ups were performed by many cadets.

I'm happy again! Just read that D Company was the honor company. Sure can't wait for those pictures to get posted.

congradulations...glad you were able to see your cadet, and how good to see cadets risk extra pushups just to wave or acknowledge their famiies~ life is good!

Congratulations to all the parents whose new cadets finished Beast. I know it was a tough time for you as well. You all must be very proud of your kids!

Congratulations again to all New Cadets (and their parents). Hopefully Reorg week will not get them down too much. This is a stressful week with all 3 upper classes to guide the New Cadets. Safe travels to those that are going up for A Day. Enjoy the time with your Cadets. They will no longer be New Cadets after the parade where they are formally accepted into the Corps of Cadets.
