SUNY Purchase??

edited January 2011 in Music Major
Hello,

This is my first post and I have a question. How is the program at Purchase? I see many people have had children audition there as well as some of the more elite conservatories. How does it measure up? If it's of any importance I would be sending a percussion major.

Thanks you.

Purchase is a conservatory and music teachers from MSM, Juilliard and Mannes also teach at Purchase. It's probably less competitive, but it is cheaper (state school) and offers many performance opportunities.

Purchase is a very intense conservatory, but it's very VERY close to individual students. Everyone here in any music program gets a lot of attention from their teachers, because of how selective the program is. It also focuses mainly on undergrads, unlike most conservatories, who give more attention tot heir graduate students.
