International looking for Songwriting program

Currently I'm studying jazz voice in the Netherlands and I will finish my Bachelor next year. After that I'd like to do a songwriting program in the US.

I've heard about Berklee, USC and Belmont. Does anyone have experience with these programs? What kind of programs are these? Are they any good? The school systems in the US and Europe are so different that it's hard sometimes to compare.

What options are there for funding concerning international students?

I just need some guidance :) I hope someone can help me out.

My D is at Berklee studying for a Bachelors degree. There is not a Masters program in songwriting, only a Bachelors. If you don't care about the degree, Berklee does have Contemporary Writing and Production majors and minors as well as as Songwriting, and they have a non-degree program that doesn't lead to a Bachelors degree but something else (the website is temporarily down or I would look it up.).

This may seem like a late reply, but I've been busy looking around.

I will need to do a graduate program in the States so I can apply for a scholarship in my own country (only for Master students).

With this in mind - I don't know of any graduate programs in the US with a major in Songwriting. As far as I know, there is only one program ilke this and it is in the UK.

Therefore I'm looking for a good graduate program for a vocalist/songwriter who has a bachelors degree in jazz studies and wants to work on his songwriting skills next to his vocal performance skills.

Are there any (good) programs out there that offer this? I suppose Thornton, Manhatten School and NYU are primarily focussed on vocal performance and won't give me a lot of room, or?

I don't only find the campus music life important; there should be a good music scene in the city where the university is based. I find that very important. I need opportunities to play, especially off-campus.

    Any experiences, tips, recommendations?
