San Francisco Resident, looking to Major in MT... are there any four year safeties I can apply to?

@QuelDrame! CSU Fullerton and CSU Northridge would really be your only California safeties, I would say. Less competitive MT programs would be Chapman and SDSU but they both require an audition. Slightly more competitive MT schools that are in this part of the country are U of Utah, Northern Colorado, U of AZ and ASU.

I should add that UCLA would be the most competitive but it's a BA in theatre with an MT emphasis (most academic).

And I mean competitive for the audition process, as academics is secondary in these acceptances. Fullerton and Northridge are non audition but Fullerton has a cut program. Uc Irvine is all about grades/scores as a freshman acceptance and then you audition to move into the program your junior year. It's a popular transfer program in my area of CA.

U Northern Colorado is a WUE school, so inexpensive for a California resident.
