Transferring back and forth in the SUNY system? (read details)?

Hello, I am a freshman at SUNY New Paltz and am majoring in Computer Engineering. I live about 30 minutes away from the school but living on campus because I can't drive. I realize that it's really expensive for me to live on campus and it seems like a waste when it's such a short distance. I am considering to "reverse transfer" to my local Community College. (SUNY Orange) and take the Engineering Program there for a year or two.It has a great Engineering Program, and I'll be saving a lot of money. While at SUNY Orange, I plan to work and learn to drive properly and eventually commute back to SUNY New Paltz. Is it possible to do that? Transferring back and forth? It would be SUNY New Paltz to SUNY Orange back to SUNY New Paltz. I know it's a headache to do all that credit transferring but it is something I am willing to do. Please tell me if this is possible. It's something I want to do very much.
