Your math and writing scores, are significantly lower than your math. RETAKE IT!! Your extra-curricular activities look fantastic, and it seems like you have a rigorous course load. Here are some tips to improve your chances:
    1. Apply ED
    2. Get an Interview
    3. WORK REALLY HARD ON YOUR ESSAY
    4. Take SAT Subject test
    5. maybe send in a cd of your band ( sounds cool)

^ Since when does NYU do interviews?

    What about AP scores? SATIIs?

You need to retake the SATs and bring both above a 630 or so.

And I am not sure what the previous poster means by fantastic ECs.

I'd say this is a reach.

NYU has never and still does not do interviews. There are some 42,000 applications for the freshmen class every year. Can you imagine how many interviews would have to be conducted? NYU isn't crazy enough to try that.

As stated previously, your CR score is good, but your M and W scores are low. The score discrepancy as well as overall low SAT score will not be good.

How did you do on the AP Tests?

Also.... You don't need to take SAT subject tests. NYU doesn't require them. They are test flexible - meaning you can submit the SAT or the ACT or 3 AP tests or 3 SAT II's. See their website for more details:

the APs listed up there are the ones I'll be taking for my upcoming senior year however I was only in AP English last year and the score should be coming in the mail any day now.

I'm going to take the SAT again in the fall after a lot more tutoring so hopefully i can get 600s and up.

And by "not fantastic ECs" do you mean that I'm not doing enough?

Thanks for all your responses I appreciate it.
