Does anyone know the Regular Decision rate for Northeastern University in Boston for the 2018-2019 admission cycle?

If it's not public (eg, Northeastern CDS) then only insiders will know the RD/ED breakdown.

I believe it was shared in admissions sessions and the like but the year before was 19% and the schools had a similar number of applications and spots, with slightly more apps. I would estimate around 18%. As a note, that doesn't include NU.in (first semester abroad), which would raise it to low 20%.

@PengsPhils I believe that is total admission rate. I was looking for the RD rate. There is a chart out there by Jeff Levy & Jennie Kent claiming ED at Northeastern has a 41% admission rate and RD is now at 9% which is disheartening. NUin would not be in the figures, since that is a spring admit.

That sounds VERY off to me. More than that, a big chunk of people apply EA, which would be a different story as well perhaps. It's worth noting that in past years the ED vs not acceptance rates have actually been pretty similar. That isn't to say it won't change, but in 2016-2017 87% of the class was not through ED. Even if that number doubled, 70% of the class would be 1800 spots, with a 25%ish yield estimated that's 7000 acceptances. Northeastern in total has under 70K applicants, and RD has of course less than that. Somewhere the math you are seeing is going wrong.

If I had to speculate, there are a few possibilities:
    1. If the RD rate is actually 9%, the EA rate is likely close to 15-18%. Unless you really like an REA school, just go EA.
    2. The stat is simply wrong and it's probably closer to 15%

@PengsPhils That is very good to hear. I about had a heat attack when I saw the RD stats! But I know how hot Northeastern is right now and was concerned it could be accurate. I love their programming, Co-op, Global views and mix of kids. My senior is definitely applying. Look up the chart if you can. I’d link it, but have no idea how.
