let me clarify something for you

its NU, not NEU. Northeastern University is not North Eastern University. Therefore that acronym is completely useless. The website is neu.edu because another school had the domain name before NU could get it. dont say or write "NEU" on campus or you will get some dirty stairs and rolled eyes. trust me on this.

    Out here in the real world there is a little place called Northwestern University that really is referred to as NU more frequently. Thus when you have a forum open to a national audience NEU is obviously an eaiser way to refer to Northeastern. Go in the college admissions forum and ask for your chances at NU - see what happens!

    so in boston NU might be fine, but on a worldwide forum NEU will have to be tolerated
