Families with Students of Color

I recently watched the webnar and on parent and on family orientation day, there's something called "Session for Families with Students of Color". Is it me or does this sound rather improper? What exactly is this? I cannot find any info in the school website. Is this for all students who are not white?

    It likely is It is daunting to enter an environment where you are a minority and have a lot trouble directed your way because of that. Colleges also have special sessions for international students and women. There are special seminars for financial aid too.
