how does intended major affect the chance of getting into Northwestern?

dreamcometruenewdreamcometruenew 0 replies1 threadsRegistered User New Member
I heard that economics is the most popular major at Northwestern. I'd like to study economics. However, my concern is that if I apply to NU as a economics major, my chance will be lower than if my intended major is something else, say statistics or applied math. Any comments are appreciated

If I recall correctly, you would be applying to the college of liberal arts which is highly competitive regardless of one's intended major.

Northwestern admissions may be more impacted by / to which of the seven or so undergraduate schools one applies as opposed to designating a specific major.
