Ohio State University - "Space-available basis?"

sparknotes101sparknotes101 0 replies1 threads New Member

I submitted my application prior to the deadline for Ohio State, but my SAT scores did not process until after February 1st. Therefore, I was contacted and told that I would be considered on a "space-available basis." What exactly does this mean? Does it hurt my chances of being admitted? When will I most likely hear back by based on years past? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You got waitlisted. How far down the waitlist is you are is anyone's guess. Yes, there's still a chance someone decides not to commit, and you'll get picked, but it's far from a guarantee. Some schools do first come/first serve, others do it based on stats.
