My daughter is waiting to know if she is a finalist for Posse. Anyone in the process has heard anything from Posse?

@Holayetsf Last year, I think that Chicago Posse finalists were notified in late October (we were notified on the 19th).

    Awesome! Congrats.
Did your daughter receive a phone call the same night of the last interview?

    Thank you. We're very proud.

Yes, she got the phone call, with the famous "Posse question" too (though a fairly boring one). Most scholars do, though not everybody. One of the more difficult things for proud parents to do is not to announce anything for a few weeks (there is an embargo of a few weeks on making any announcements, I don't know why).

I’m sorry for bombing you with so many questions, but I have a couple more.
Do you know if the student can apply for EA to a particular school and change it to ED if she gets match to that school?
We’re still waiting to hear if she made it to the final round. Do you think it’s a good sign? Are the kids not selected contacted right away?
    We’re pretty anxious...

The earliest EA deadline for Chicago partner schools are Nov 1st for UMichigan and Cornell. You will know before that whether your D was matched with to one of these.

What I recommend is that she have the entire application uploaded and ready to go, along with LoRs, but NOT submitted. If she is matched, you'll have put it together anyway, though the Posse people will look at the application and help her polish it up. If she's not matched to Michigan/Cornell, you can then apply AE to Michigan/Cornell, since the rules of Posse application are basically the rules like any other ED application - you can apply EA for any college, so long as you cancel that application if you're chosen as a Posse scholar.

If she's not looking at either Michigan or Cornell, she can apply EA to either or both, so long as she withdraws her application if selected as a Posse scholar.

If the college has an EA deadline coming up (say the 15th), and I'm wrong, call and ask at the Posse office - they're really good at answering questions. You can call anyway.
