Do grades, scores affect audition results?

This is really just a matter of curiousity. How are a student's grades, academic awards, test results, etc used in the decision process for a MT audition? (At Otterbein or elsewhere)

If two auditionees are equally talented and qualified, do grades help to tip the scale? Does that even happen, where there is a "tie"?

(I say it is curiousity because the students' grades are a done deal at this point!)
